I have a paid membership on Classmates.com. I have been trying to contact an old friend. When I visited their profile, I went ahead and left my name on their guestbook. Within minutes, it showed they had visited MY guestbook. So I sent a quick email - no response. Then I realized I had two profiles up by mistake - killed off the duplicate profile, and revisted my friend's profile and resigned the guestbook. Again, within minutes, it showed that they had signed my guestbook. Again I sent an email, and again no response.
OK, so what is going on? If they are a free member, then they can't see my email OR my name on their guestbook without paying. So if they're free, how did they respond so quickly to my signing their guestbook by signing mine? Coincidence? Twice?
If they are a paid (gold) member, then why sign my guestbook twice but ignore the email?
I am a little suspicious of classmates.com. Are they faking guestbook signings? Has anyone else had this experience?
Confused about contacting old friend on Classmates.com?
I'd suggest writing your e-mail address down on a piece of paper, taking a picture of it with a camera, and then posting it as either your "before" or "after" photo. That way anyone checking your profile hoping to get in contact with you will be able to reach you whether they're a paying member or not.
