Ok so I happen to knew two classmates from college that I sit next to. I speak to them everyone in a while and helped them out and shared answers with them a few times. Whenever we talked it always had to do with school and anything that involves our classes that we had together. We never hang out outside of class or even speak on the phone or nothing, just aquainted classmates. How exactly do I approach them to see if they want to hang out with them outside of class? I don't want to seem weird or anything like that and I'm afraid to be turned down. Also note that I am pretty shy and nervous at times I don't know why!

Ask if they would like to join you for a few drinks after work, although if they're married they might not want to. That way you'd get to know each other. Make a rule that shop talk isn't allowed. If you find that you have nothing in common you just simply don't go out with them again on a social basis.
Reply:Do it casually. Maybe one day say something like, "Man, I'm starving. You guys up for grabbing a bite?" You could also form a study group with them. If you have their numbers, call them sometime. You can use school as an excuse, then turn it into a more social convo. If you get rejected, it's their loss.
Reply:oh just ask them if they want to go for a cinema/something. See how they respond. You could bring it up next time you see them after your class.
As for shyness, the trick is to challenge yourself do things a shy person won't do.
For example I made myself ask a question in a debate in a huge hall with lots of people, not because I wanted to, but because I wanted to see if I could.
Besides when you do things going against that suppressing feeling due to shyness , you feel a sense freedom.
